
Karen R. Adler is the Chair of the Board of SK Adler of the Adler Group a multigenerational family Real Estate development and management company. Karen has also been an independent management consultant working with high net worth families and their foundations with a specific focus on management, operations and philanthropic issues for the past ten years. In both the family business and her consultant practice her focus has been on advising younger family members. Prior to this, Karen was the Chief Executive Officer of Bromor Management LLC, the family office for the Andrea and Charles Bronfman family. Bromor Management was responsible for the investments, management and operations of this multi-generational family office as well as the administrative and financial activities of the Andrea and Charles Bronfman Philanthropies an umbrella for seven foundations in the United States, Canada, and Israel.
Prior to joining Bromor, Karen was a strategic planning and marketing consultant working with foundations, NGOs, and private businesses to develop business strategies for successfully working with federal, state and local governments. From 1993 through 1997 Karen was the Regional Administrator for the General Services Administration in that capacity she was responsible for the development, construction, leasing operating, and management of the US federal government’s real estate. She also managed the programs that provided products and services to the federal government for its daily operations including telecommunications, information resource management, travel and transportation. Karen developed and implemented the agency wide program for “right sizing” this huge government organization. Prior to joining the Clinton Administration Karen held management positions in finance government and politics.
Karen Adler and the Adler-Greenwald Family philanthropic efforts focus on three primary areas:
- Israel and the American Jewish Community
- American Democratic Principles and Expanding Citizen Participation
- Empowering Women and Girls to Fully Participate in All Aspects of Society
Ms. Adler serves on the Board and Executive Committee of the Jewish Communal Fund of New York, the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York, the Roosevelt Institute, and Plaza Jewish Community Chapel. Ms Adler is actively involved with a number of other national and international organizations dedicated to furthering the goals of the family’s philanthropy.
Karen Adler has an MBA in Finance from New York University, an MPA and an MA in Urban Planning from Northeastern University, and a BA in Political Science from American University.
Karen is married to Laurence Greenwald they have 2 sons and 5 grandchildren.
